Anger Management

Anger is a completely normal emotion. We all feel hurt or frustrated at different times. The key is how we express our anger. This determines whether a person might benefit from anger management therapy.

People who learn to articulate their feelings in a calm way feel much better than those who yell. We are also heard better by others when we communicate without raising our voices. People who become aggressive or physical would greatly benefit from anger management to help them understand how to use healthy tools to express their feelings.

Signs that anger management could help include losing your temper easily, experiencing road rage, becoming defiant, or frequently getting into arguments. If you find yourself using drugs or alcohol to calm down, anger management would be a better choice. Using substances only postpones the problem. It doesn’t make the feelings go away.

In anger management, I work with clients to help them learn techniques to better handle their anger and resentment in constructive ways.
